Feeling Vintage at the Brubacher House

Updated: Apr 20, 2020

These two lovebirds wanted 20 minutes alone to see eachother before they walked down the aisle, so we met up in front of a little Waterloo Gem, The Brubacher house built in 1850. They stood on either side of the huge silo that was used in the farming life of this little home. I stood back to see this bride and groom so young and excited to begin their new adventure together and wondered what other wonderful stories this Silo had to tell.

We had a lovely little ceremony, and visited our local Waterloo Park for some photos in the awesome greenery this time of year has to offer. We even grabbed some shots at the first School house ever built in Waterloo in 1820.

The eventful night was capped off at the Lang Tanning company( now called The Tannery) which was a local Leather company established in 1849 that has been restored to brick and beams and hosts many new developing companies. I didn't realize at the time, that the entire day was surrounded by the monuments of my hometown in the 1800's. It was an honor to be a part of their day, which is just another little tidbit now of Kitchener Waterloo's history and the amazing people who live here.
